and with this Shiv Khera’s words, I hereby present the annual report of MPS for the academic year 2019-2020
Our MPS has got started in the year 2015 and currently has students strength of 766 from KG to Grade-9
This year has been a very eventful one for us. We made great efforts and have been extremely successful in most of our endeavours. Apart from preparing the children for purely academic demands, special efforts were made to enable them face the challenges of this competitive world. It’s a matter of great importance for us in carrying forward the values of lives from MPS and to be the role models for the generations to come.
Academic Report:

Our vision is to make MPS one of the best schools of our country by providing all round development along with ensuring man making education. Excellence in academics is the hallmark of a good institution. The credit of the excellent performance is attributed to a number of new initiatives undertaken by the mentors of MPS.
Curriculum:
At MPS the academic year is from 1st April to 31st March next calendar year. We follow CBSE syllabus with NCERT curriculum for classes 6 - 9 and Oxford for KG to Grade 5.
Examination:
MPS follows the directions given by CBSE. Assessment consists of two terms. Every term will have one periodic test and a summative assessment. Forthcoming Summative Assessment-2 is scheduled from 11th to 19th of March.
Subject Enrichment Activity:
At MPS Subject Enrichment Activities help students to generate patterns for creative proficiency, enhance the understanding of concept without rote learning.. Every month, in each subject, enrichment activities are being conducted and recorded in Uniform Assessment register, invariably from Grade-1 to Grade-9.
CBSE Academic Activities:
Conservation of Water-August
MPS Students from Grade IX were patronized by witnessing requisite “Water Warriors” an awakening programme on 28th August, 2019 conducted by Naneer water project Foundation at Appan Thirupathi, Madurai. The program was inaugurated by Mr.Amrit IAS, Additional Collector, Superintendent of Police, and Project Director. This Session facilitated our MPS children with 3D models of Rain water harvesting and its uses.
Vigilance Awareness week
The widespread corruption has an adverse effect on the development of a nation. In order to eradicate and to ensure prosperity of the nation, the Central Vigilance Commission endeavours to promote transparency, probity and integrity in public life and has organized Vigilance Awareness programme in CBSE board and affiliated schools. Commemorating the Vigilance Awareness week, a special awareness programme was organized for students of Grade- 8 in our school.
BRICS Math Online Competition
BRICS-Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Korea-a 5 country collaborated organization has conducted Mathematic skill online test for CBSE students all over India for the Grades-6 to 9 students in which our MPS ardent students came out with merit scores.
ARYABHATTA GANIT Challenge
GANIT organization has called for a Mathematic Challenge for CBSE students. Grade-8 & 9 students from MPS have participated in different levels like Puzzle, Quiz, and Pattern Identification over online challenge and excelled with calibre.
CBSE Story narration competition:
CBSE has conducted National Level Story narration competition for students from 23rd November to 14th December 2019 which comprised of 3 levels. Yashika MN of Grade-8 Daisy and Yogitha S of Grade-3 Jasmine have been shortlisted for Level-2 and were awarded with a participation certificate through CBSE portal.
Fit India School Week
For any society or Nation to progress, it’s important that their citizens are physically and mentally fit. On 29th August 2019, the Honourable Prime Minister launched nation-wide “Fit India School Week” in all CBSE schools. MPS took forward the mission in the third week of November and altered ‘Passive Screen time’ to ‘Active Field time’ for the students. CBSE recognized MPS and rewarded with The Fit India School-certificate and Flag from the Ministry of Youth affair and Sports in December 2019.
Constitution Day
MPS celebrated Pledge taking ceremony on Constitution Day aiming to publicize the glorious rich composite culture and diversity of our nation. We created awareness of Fundamental Duties as enshrined in Indian Constitution among MPS students.
CBSE Reading Challenge
CBSE has regulated National level Reading Comprehension competition for students from 23rd January to 10th February 2020 which administered 2 levels. Disha of Grade-8 Daisy, Janani of Grade-8 Lily and V Harshini, Madesh of Grade-9 Daisy have been shortlisted with their merit score and were awarded with a participation recognition certificate through CBSE portal.
Pariksha Par Charcha-2020
At MPS, Live broadcast of Pariksha Par Charcha 2020’on January 20th from 11:00 am to 1:00pm was held for the Grade-8&9 students aiming to drive away their examination stress / fear which was addressed and hosted by The Prime Minister of India.
IMA and ISA
Indian Math Assessment - Indian Science Assessment organized all over India CBSE / IMA-ISA exams for Grades-3 to 9 in which our MPS zealous students have proved their active participation by handling OMR sheets and achieved the summit.
MSSC Activities
MSSC is Madurai Sahodaya Schools Complex.MPS feels proud to be the prestigious members among 128 CBSE schools in MSSC and takes active part in all the activities conducted by MSSC.
Arohanam-2019
MSSC called for Arahonam-2019 inter-school cultural meet in the month of October 2019 in which 80 students from MPS have participated.
MSSC Workshop for and Principal Teacher
*Workshop on “Principal as Pedagogical Leaders under the banner Train-2 Transform” was conducted by Oxford University Press in which MPS Principal, Headmistress and Coordinators took active part.. *Ratna Sagar Book Publisher invited CBSE School Principals for a workshop on “Cognitive Apprenticeship” in which our Principal and Headmistress got trained effectively. *Kips conducted workshop for Computer faculties on Artificial Intelligence and Robotics. Our teachers participated and had quality duration. *MPS Tamil Teachers were given an opportunity to witness a workshop to enhance their teaching skills and ability. *Physical Education Teacher of MPS took part in PETs meet conducted by MSSC during August 2019. *MSSC Workshop on deep comprehension for deep learning by Karadipath Education Company Pvt. Ltd offered a timely needed training session in which our Principal, Headmistress and Coordinators took part and got enriched. *POCSO – Conducted Project CACA (Children Against Child Abuse) which initiates a series of school driven dialogues and behaviour changes among all the stakeholders on child rights, gender equality and child abuse which was actively witnessed by our Teachers on 4th December, 2019.
Sports Activity Report:
*MPS sport personalities have taken part in Chess tournament in Under 12 and Under 14 category at KLN Vidhyalaya (CBSE), Viraganur and proved their distinct ability in sports. *MPS promising girls rendered their daring participation in Throw-ball tournament in under 14 category at Jay Tech International School, T.Puthupatti, Theni. *MPS elite girls have been tough competitors in Volleyball tournament in under14 category at Velammal Residential School, Ladanenthal and marked their overwhelming performance. *MPS girls have registered their tremendous performance in swimming tournament in under 14 category at Velammal Vidyalaya, Anupanadi and publicized their capability
OLYMPIAD
“The quality of your thinking, determines the quality of your mind.” Not only within the school, our students across all classes have been winning accolades in academic competitions and Olympiad conducted at the national and international level as well. A rank in the Olympiad develops a sense of confidence in the students and their parents. The achievements of the students are as follows: 53 students participated in International G.K Olympiad on 6th September, 2019 and bagged, 6-Gold, 1-Silver and 1-Bronze medals. 72 students participated in International English Olympiad on 5th November, 2019 and bagged.6-Gold, 3-Silver and 3-Broze medals. 58 students participated in National Science Olympiad on 11th November, 2019 and bagged.. 6-Gold, 1-Silver and 1-Bronze medals. 115 students participated in International Maths Olympiad on 5th December, 2019 and bagged.8-Gold, 6-Silver and 5-Bronze Medals.
SCHOOL HOUSES
“Strength does not come from physical capacity, it comes from unity.” To have a healthy and intellectual competition between the students, the teachers and students are divided into four different houses, GANDHI, NEHRU, BOSE and PATEL. The House on duty performs its roles of conducting the day-to-day activities, competitions in systematic and disciplined manner.
Student Council Election
Voting is not only our right. It is our power to change the ignorance. So at MPS, Students are always motivated to achieve their rights by voting. The mock election was conducted at MPS for the selection of School Head Boy & Girl and Asst. Head Boy & Girl on 1st July, 2019. Our children felt proud to cast their vote for their favourite candidate.
Investiture Ceremony
Investiture Ceremony is one of the important events of an academic year. This ceremony gives students a sense of responsibility that they are leaders to lead the school in a right path. MPS Investiture Ceremony was held on 10th July, 2019, in a grand manner. The four houses Gandhi, Patel, Nehru and Bose marched and received the Chief Guest Captain K.S.Vinoth Kumar. He honoured the School Pupil Leaders, House Leaders, Assistant House Leaders and Class Prefects with the badges.
Co-Curricular Activity Report:
Apart from curriculum, equal importance is given to Co-Curricular activities for the overall development of the children. CCA competition is conducted on every alternative Fridays, based on individual and group categories, invariably from K.G to grade IX, in which 100% participation of the entire strength of the school is been witnessed. The conducted competition names are as follow.. Colouring, Test your memory, Fancy dress, Storytelling, Picture talk, Talent hunt, Rhymes, Look Alike, Thirukkural Recitation, Clay modelling, Origami, Art from waste, Dumb sharade, Poem Recitation(Hindi), Rangoli, Spell Bee, Group song, Poster making, Flower arrangement, Cooking without fire, vegetable carving. Out of 766 students, 525 prize winners were awarded with shields and certificates as well as 250 consolation prizes were bestowed meeting the cost of 2.5lacs for our ardent students of MPS on February 25, 2020 by the Chief guest Dr.Rani Chakravarthy, Psychologist & Director, Rakshna Child Guidance.
Extra Curricular Activity:
ECA develops a realistic, positive attitude towards pupils for themselves on their fullest potential. Ten different Experts for Extra Curricular Activities...Taekwondo, Karate, Silambam, Classical Dance, Yoga, Photography, Flute, Music, Chess, Painting... are engaging MPS students on every Thursdays.
World Silambam Championship 2019
One more feather added to the cap of MPS’s crown… "World Silambam Championship 2019" was conducted on 14th and 15th September 2019 in Malaysia by Malaysian Silambam Academy and Asian Silambam academy. Six countries participated. Among many competitors two students from our Madurai Public School achieved the medals. N.Rashika - VIII STD won the Gold Medal and N.Kishore - VI STD won the Silver Medal.
CONCLUSION
We wish to dedicate all our achievements to the committed efforts of our Chairman Shri.L.Nachiappan, our Director Shri.M.Athimoolarajan, Directress Smt.M.Eswari, Smt.R.Vanitha and other members of MPS TEAM. Your support truly energizes us, ensures our future success. We remain grateful to all the parents for reposting their unparalleled trust in us which propels us to take off with greater commitment and we are sure with the cooperation of team and the blessings of almighty, the school will continue to grow leaps and bounds.
